The word "osnova" means "foundation" in Ukrainian, which is our native language. One of our favorite Bible verses, found in 1 Corinthians 3:11, which says that Jesus is our foundation. Through our work we want to proclaim this truth and celebrate His lordship in our lives.
The very first OSNOVA publication was the KJV Bible, in 2009. The Kindle had just become the new best e-reader on the market, and Illya (the founder of OSNOVA and its driving force) made his first electronic Bible for personal use on his Kindle. The format of that Bible was drastically different from anything available for e-readers.
